Can we remind you – it did not say RSVP on the Statue of Liberty? If you know where this line is from, then get ready for a stylish show. The line is just one of many zingers from the 1990s film, Clueless. Now, Clueless The Musical is making its way to London’s Trafalgar Theatre from 15 February to 14 June.

Clueless was released in 1995 and starred Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, Brittany Murphy, and Paul Rudd. The coming-of-age teen comedy draws inspiration from Jane Austen’s novel Emma. Set in California, United States, it follows the teenager Cher Horowitz. She befriends a new student, decides to give her a makeover, and plays matchmaker for her teachers.

Clueless was a success and grossed more than $88 million worldwide. The lines have entered popular culture, and the fashion has become famous. Even Kim Kardashian and her daughter North West dressed as the characters Cher and Dionne for Halloween.

Clueless The Musical will be based on the film, and directed by Rachel Kavanaugh. The cast has not yet been announced. The lyrics will be written by the American lyricist, Glenn Slater. The music will be written by the Scottish singer, KT Tunstall.

KT Tunstall’s hit songs include Hold On, Other Side of the World, and Suddenly I See. She released her first studio album, Eye to the Telescope, in 2004. Over her career, she has been nominated for a BRIT Award, Grammy Award, and Mercury Prize.
