Located in Mayfair, the venue opens on 4 November.

Jamavar fans, we have some tasty news. Samyukta Nair, the creator behind the MICHELIN Starred restaurant Jamavar, is opening a new concept. The Italian restaurant Nipotina will open on 4 November. Located on South Audley Street, here’s what to expect.

In Italian, nipotina means granddaughter, and highlights how this will be a family-friendly concept. On Instagram, the restaurant shared a video of the venue under construction, and the team coming together. The caption reads: “A good dose of Italian soul, from our family to yours.”

Nipotina will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus aperitvo and pre-meal drinks. The menu has not yet been unveiled. So far, we know that Somaia Hammad, who hails from Turin, will lead the kitchen. The dishes draw inspiration from traditional Italian cooking techniques and the nostalgia that comes with eating at the family dinner table.

Samyukta is the restauranteur behind the concept. She is also behind Bombay Bustle on Maddox Street, MiMi Mei Fair on Curzon Street, and Socca on South Audley Street. Plus, she recently opened the Thai restaurant Koyn, which is located in Grosvenor Square.

Samyukta’s biggest restaurant success story is Jamavar. Taking its name from the 16th-century lace shawls of Kashmir, the restaurant is known for its pan-Indian cuisine. The London restaurant opened in 2016 and is now found around the world. Locations include Bengaluru, Chennai, Doha, London, New Delhi, Mumbai, and, most recently, Dubai.

Nipotina is open for reservations.
