Park Hyatt makes a dazzling debut in the capital.

Park Hyatt has made its debut in the capital in sophisticated style. Located in Nine Elms, Park Hyatt London River Thames boasts a sense of exclusivity. So much so, it has fast become a haven for celebrities and client meetings. If you want to experience the city without the crowds, then choose this luxurious location.

The phrase, money screams, wealth whispers, rings true at Park Hyatt London River Thames. The hotel is situated near Oval Cricket Ground, Tate Britain and the United States Embassy. The location is a short walk from the redeveloped Battersea Power Station, which is popular with famous faces, from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to Romeo Beckham.

On our visit to Park Hyatt London River Thames, we spotted celebrities, from one legendary American pop star to a British producer. The hotel should be commended for its dedicated yet discreet service, as they all felt relaxed enough to visit the restaurant – including the breakfast buffet.

Rike Erdbrink, General Manager at Park Hyatt London River Thames, explained: “With its central location and thoughtful design, the hotel positions London in a new light, primed to accommodate discerning travellers looking for elevated experiences.” The team have succeeded at setting the standard for hotels in the area, and created an elegant escape.

Rooms and suites

Park Hyatt London River Thames is the epitome of refined. Drawing inspiration from its surroundings, it brings to life an English charm. The design includes timeless furniture, neutral tones and a Charlie Whinney installation. Plus, there is artwork from George Blacklock, Ewan David, Françoise Delaire, Gabriel Leung, Ian Rayer-Smith and Jo Taylor.

Park Hyatt River Thames is home to 203 guest rooms and 34 suites, including two Ambassador Suites and one Presidential Suite. As Battersea has undergone a significant redevelopment, it is rare to see the skyline from this angle. What sets the hotel apart is the view, as all of the rooms boast floor-to-ceiling windows.

We checked into the King Bed Deluxe, which spanned 463 square feet. For security reasons, it’s not often you overlook MI6, but we could see James Bond’s offices, the London Eye, The Shard and beautiful bridges over the river. And the sights are best viewed from our superbly soft king-sized bed.

The walk-in wardrobe wouldn’t look out of place in the English countryside. Lookout for the William Morris prints and golden touches across handles and table legs. Plus, the marble bathroom was big enough for two and included a bathtub as well as a rainfall shower.

Restaurants and bars

Park Hyatt London River Thames is home to a range of restaurants and bars. The all-day dining restaurant, Nine Elms Kitchen and Terrace, pays homage to London’s culture, and the menu showcases seasonal ingredients. At the heart of the restaurant is an open kitchen, and you can watch the chefs at work. The breakfast buffet is on the slim side, but the a la carte menu covers classics including Avocado On Toast, Eggs Benedict and Full English. Plus, there are Chinese-inspired dishes including a Full Chinese Breakfast.

The Nine Elms Bar and Lounge offers signature cocktails, TAMISé Tea Lounge and Wine Library overlooks the river, and a Cantonese restaurant will open soon.
