The New York set is coming to the capital – and you can visit.
The hit comedy TV show Friends has given the world memorable moments between six New Yorkers, many of which took place in Central Perk. Do you remember Rachel entering the cafe in a wedding dress, Ross calling Rachel his lobster or Phoebe singing Smelly Cat? If those references mean anything to you, then you’ll be excited to hear about The Friends Experience: The One in London.
The Friends Experience: The One in London marks the hit TV show’s 30th anniversary, and will be running during August – although the exact dates have not yet been confirmed. The experience first came to Birmingham and is now coming to the capital.
The immersive Friends experience allows visitors to recreate scenes from the show. Visitors can dance in front of the famous fountain, play table football at Chandler and Joey’s apartment, and peep through the purple door to Monica and Rachel’s apartment. And, take a seat on Central Perk’s iconic orange sofa.
Fun memorabilia includes the turkey head, Phoebe’s New York cab, and the 18-page letter (front and back). The site also includes a special shop with souvenirs, food and, of course, coffee. The items include branded mugs, peephole picture frames and hoodies.
Friends aired between 1994 and 2004 and lasted for ten seasons. The cast included Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and Matthew Perry, who recently passed away. While the show revolved around friendship, there was food fun, from Joey drinking a gallon of milk in 10 seconds to Monica dancing with a turkey on her head. Remember: Joey doesn’t share food, so we’re not judging if you don’t, too.
Tickets for The Friends Experience: The One in London go on presale from 17 June and general sale from 18 June.
