Now, this is quite the royal glide.

Ice skating is one of those quintessential Christmas activities that must be done during the festive period. Now, imagine taking this winter tradition and sprinkling it with a dash of royalty. Confused? Let us break the ice for you. This winter, Kensington Palace — home to Prince Willian and Kate Middleton — will become home to the UK's largest-ever ice rink.

Located on Perks Field, a space usually used by the Royals as a helipad, this grand ice rink is set to span 2,800 square metres on the palace grounds. It'll have the capacity to accommodate up to 750 skaters at a time with a giant Christmas tree in the centre — creating a picturesque scene.

But the winter magic doesn't stop there. The northern end of Perks Field, previously a football pitch for the Royal Household, will be transformed into a funfair and food hall. After your skating session, you can indulge in some well-deserved treats, like mulled wine and festive grub.

Mark your calendars because Ice @ Kensington Park will open its doors on 30 November, 2023, and will keep the winter wonder alive until 7 January, 2024. And guess what? Early bird tickets are already up for grabs, offering a 15 per cent discount until 19 September. Tickets start at £16 for children under 14, while adult tickets are priced at £16. And make sure to book your spot soon, as over 10,000 visitors a day are expected to flock to this sensational attraction.

This isn't the first time Kensington Palace has opened its grounds to the public. Past events held on Perks Field include a design festival and Burberry fashion shows. So don't miss out on this enchanting winter wonderland because it's going to be a royal glide like no other.
