The Lightbound sportswear collection is available now.
Sportswear brand adidas has teamed up with Saudi fashion label Kaf by Kaf to launch the SS25 Sportswear collection, Lightbound. Designed to celebrate self-identity, authenticity, and creative expression, the collection draws inspiration from the moon's glow, symbolising artistic and personal awakening.
Debuting ahead of Riyadh Fashion Week in October 2024, Lightbound was unveiled at adidas' first regional runway show in Riyadh's King Aabdullah Financial District. The exclusive showcase merged sportswear, culture, and fashion, spotlighting a fresh take on Saudi-inspired design.
The Lightbound collection reinterprets traditional Saudi garments through a modern sportswear lens. Standout pieces include the classic track top and pants in vibrant all-over prints with ribbed details, functional cargo and zippered pockets, and the elongated cover-up abaya, which blends bold prints with adidas's signature 3-Stripes branding. A lightweight headscarf is crafted from breathable materials for effortless wearability, while a long sporty dress features a flat knit V-neck, racerback silhouette, and side seam pockets.
At the heart of Lightbound is the concept of The Lines That Connect Us, a theme represented through diagonal white beams and interlocking motifs, signifying unity and empowerment. The collection's colour palette draws from the hues of dusk and dawn, reflecting designer Kawthar Alhoraish's signature aesthetic.
Accompanying the launch is a campaign starring Kuwaiti-born Lebanese actress Laila Abdullah, Bahraini blogger Abbas Alasfoor, and Dubai-based creatives Shahd Batal and Abdulrahman Abu Ebeid. Set against backdrops of textured stone walls and moonlit alleyways, the campaign mirrors the collection's interplay between heritage and modernity.
