The collaboration will take place for one night only.

Heston Blumenthal is partnering with acclaimed chef Alain Roux for a celebratory dining experience on 15 May. This once-in-a-lifetime event will celebrate the anniversaries of 40 years of The Waterside Inn and 30 years of The Fat Duck. 

The event will be hosted at The Waterside Inn in Bray, offering a stunning riverside venue for the highly anticipated occasion. The menu will be a collaboration of both establishments and will combine the confidence and technical perfection of the two restaurants, paired with first-class hospitality that defines both.

In a post on his Instagram, Heston’s team said: “We look forward to raising a glass at this long-awaited event, uniting two of the world’s greatest kitchens for one extraordinary night of gastronomy. We are truly overwhelmed by the support of our dearest guests, as tickets sold out during our pre-release.” 

The event will also donate fifty per cent of ticket sales equally to charities chosen by each chef. These will be the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust, of which Alain Roux is a patron, and Bipolar UK, of which Heston Blumenthal serves as an ambassador.

Heston is best known for his incredibly creative and innovative dishes, such as his snail porridge, crab ice cream, and 'Sound of the Sea', a seafood dish accompanied by the sound of crashing waves and seagulls.

Alain, on the other hand, is a classically trained French chef best known for his classic, intricate dishes, such as his pan-fried lobster medallions with vegetable julienne and white port sauce, and île flottante, 'floating island' dessert.

More recently, Alain’s The Waterside Inn launched a new four-course menu to celebrate 40 years of being a three-time Michelin-starred restaurant. Heston’s The Fat Duck also recently reintroduced its à la carte menu for the first time in 20 years to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

With every dish telling a story and every detail crafted with intention, this event is set to be a moment in gastronomic history.
