IKEA has launched a new luxury pop-up store, Hus of FRAKTA. Located on Oxford Street, it draws inspiration from its signature bag, the blue IKEA FRAKTA. The pop-up store is open daily until March 2025.
Discover the world where style meets innovation, paying tribute to one of IKEA’s iconic products that is often seen being used and loved by many people. The pop-up is a quirky tribute to the area and is an exciting way of building anticipation for the launch of a flagship store in the Spring of 2025.
The store comprises a number of thrilling features such as the Curated Collection, which offers a selection of IKEA’s most beloved products, including the RÄFFELBJÖRK case, NÖDMAST lamp, DOMSTEN stool and more. To further make the store more appealing, IKEA decided to add an exciting little detail to their pop-up store called the Atelier, where people can personalise their bags and add their initials with their desired letterings on the bag. The personalisation on the large bag (75p) and the medium bag (50p) costs £3 and is free of charge for all the IKEA members.
Adhering to the store's theme, there’s a small museum-like display. Blue Edit comprises items from the curated collection that are available for purchase. The features include an ASMR soundscape installed by the exit, giving guests the feeling of entering the FRAKTA bag. Plus, it includes mirrored surfaces, 3D lighting, and a press for candyfloss wall.
Matt Gould, IKEA London City Store Manager at IKEA, said, “We‘re incredibly excited to bring IKEA to Oxford Street and know there‘s plenty of anticipation for the store opening next year. In a playful tribute to this iconic location, we took inspiration from the world of fashion and blended it with our own principles of democratic design, so the FRAKTA can be discovered like never before.”
