Spring is just around the corner, and London will be in full bloom. If you can’t wait, check out Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art and Culture at Saatchi Gallery. Located in Chelsea, the exhibition runs until 5 May. 

Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art and Culture explores the power of flowers throughout history. The exhibition looks at how flowers have inspired creatives, from artists to writers. Plus, how they have been depicted in contemporary culture. 

The exhibition spans two floors and nine gallery spaces. The show brings together a range of media, which include art, fashion and photography. Discover how flowers have been more than just a symbol of beauty and how they have been used as metaphors for human emotions.

At Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art and Culture, the exhibition brings together 500 artworks. The rooms range from one with more than 100,000 dried flowers to another room with an interactive digital projection. The artists include Cristina Alcantara, Pedro Almodóvar, Nobuyoshi Araki, Nick Archer, Gillian Ayres, Jessica Backhaus, Mandy Barker, Brendan Barry, Susan Beech, Valérie Belin and more. 

Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art and Culture has been curated with a range of institutions and designers. The curatorial project partners include Chelsea Physic Garden, Cinema Poster Gallery, The Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography, Marimekko, Mary Quant Limited, Sanderson Design Group including Morris & Co., and William Morris Gallery.

Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art and Culture tickets start from £10. The Saatchi Gallery is open daily from 10am to 6pm.
