You can enjoy your favourite romantic classics on the Thames this August.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience in London this summer, we’ve got just the news for you. A floating cinema will debut on the River Thames, giving you a chance to watch your favourite classic movies — ideally with a loved one by your side.

A floating cinema is coming to the Thames for an event called Movies on the River that takes place from 14 to 17 August. The summer lineup features romantic movies that are best enjoyed with a loved one making it perfect for a date. And the best part is that this floating cinema is free.

Your night out will begin at 7:30pm at the Tower Millennium Pier, where you will cruise along the Thames while enjoying the movie amidst stunning views of London’s skyline.

Kick off the floating cinema experience on 14 August with the beloved rom-com Notting Hill, starring Hugh Grant as a bookshop owner who meets a glamorous movie star, played by Julia Roberts. Set in London, their unlikely love story unfolds, making it a perfect film to watch under the stars.

On 15 August, immerse yourself in the award-winning movie Moonlight. This coming-of-age drama follows Chiron through three pivotal stages of his life as he struggles with identity, family, and love.

And taking things forward on 16 August is 10 Things I Hate About You. This high school romcom starring Heath Ledger comes with a whole lot of nostalgia that you definitely need to witness while floating on the Thames.

And lastly, on 17 August, you can watch La La Land, a musical starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, as they fall in love and venture out to fulfil their lifelong dreams.

The first round of tickets for Movies on the River has already been sold out. But new passes will be available soon.
