Sia has written new songs for Burlesque The Musical.

Burlesque The Musical is making its way to the West End in London. The theatre adaptation of the well-loved 2010 movie starring Christina Aguilera, will come to The Savoy Theatre in July.

Directed by Steve Antin, the movie follows the small-town girl Ali Rose (played by Aguilera) who abruptly quits her job and moves to Los Angeles looking for her big break, only to happen upon a burlesque lounge owned by Tess (played by Cher). The plot takes us through the financial struggles of the lounge, weaving through themes of love, heartbreak and unlikely friendships, all under a sonically powerful and emotive soundtrack mostly sung by Aguilera and Cher themselves.

Now coming to the stage, Aguilera has joined Antin once more in reworking Burlesque The Musical's tunes and writing new songs with collaborators such as Sia, Diane Warren, Jess Folley and Todrick Hall, with additional material by Kate Wetherhead. Sia is best known for her hits Chandelier and Unstoppable.

The show premiered successfully in Manchester and Glasgow last year, and will open in London this summer for a limited West End run. The full cast and the creative team have not yet been announced.

Christina Aguilera said: “I’m proud that Burlesque The Musical is coming to London’s West End! Our journey of making this film to bringing this show to the stage has been so special and exciting. Following our successful previews, having the show land in the West End later this year is a dream come true!”

Burlesque the Musical will be performed at The Savoy Theatre from 10 July until 6 September 2025. Tickets will be on general sale at 10am on Wednesday, 26 March.
