Located in Mayfair, the space promises to be a hub for the Turkish art.

Istanbul-based contemporary art gallery Dirimart has announced the opening of its newest gallery space in Mayfair, London.

This new gallery will be its first international branch and is set to open sometime this year. Found in Mayfair, this location situates Dirimart among London’s high-end galleries and in the centre of a vibrant arts scene.

In the upcoming months, the opening exhibition and gallery’s programme for the year will be announced. The space aims to act not just as a typical art gallery, but also as a community space for artists of the Turkish diaspora in the United Kingdom, to connect with one another and build relationships.

Themes of its work displayed will include intergenerational exchange, regional and individual diversity and international collaboration.

This year, the gallery will be celebrating its 23rd year and is focused on challenging the existing stereotypes of the arts industry in Istanbul. Dirimart creates a programme that is based on political resistance, intellectual discussion and themes of conceptualism.

Established back in 2022 by Hazer Özil, he aimed to feature both well-known and emerging artists from Türkiye and beyond. He intended to provide a space that creates room for critical discussion and highlights both individual regional differences of the artists exhibited, while promoting collaboration.

Özil said: “At Dirimart, expanding our collaboration with artists has always been a priority. In line with our publishing activities and mission to foster critical dialogue, we aim to create an inclusive and international platform. As a gallery that originated in Turkey, our goal in London is to become a global art space—embracing diversity rather than being defined by geographical boundaries. Opening our new gallery in London is a bold step towards advancing our global ambitions and positioning Dirimart as an international gallery.”
