Fiddler on the Roof leads the way with 13 nominations.
All of London’s a stage. To celebrate the capital’s tremendous theatre scene, the Olivier Awards 2025 have announced the nominations. Fiddler on The Roof leads the way with an impressive 13 nominations.
Created in 1976, the Olivier Awards celebrate excellence in the West End and beyond. This year’s event take place on 6 April at the Royal Albert Hall, and will be screened on ITV in the United Kingdom. The show will be presented by Beverley Knight and Billy Porter.
Fiddler On The Roof is this year’s most nominated production. The 13 nominations include Best Musical Revival, the Sir Peter Hall Award for Best Director, Best Actor in a Musical, and Best Actress in a Musical. Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet Of 1812 has received six nominations. The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button and Oliver! have received four nominations each.
Giant and The Years are tied for most nominated play with five nominations each. The nominations include Best Director for Eline Arbo for The Years and Nicholas Hytner for Giant. John Lithgow has received his first Laurence Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor as Roald Dahl in Giant.
In musical theatre, the Best Actor in a Musical nominees includes John Dagleish for The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, Myles Frost in MJ The Musical, Simon Lipkin in Oliver!, Jamie Muscato in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet Of 1812, and Adam Dannheisser in Fiddler On The Roof. The Best Actress in a Musical nominees include Chumisa Dornford-May in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet Of 1812, Lauren Drew in Titanique, Clare Foster in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, Lara Pulver in Fiddler On The Roof and Imelda Staunton in Hello, Dolly!
