The show brings to life Ancient Egypt with state-of-the-art technology.
Travel back in time at Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition. The family-friendly event brings to life ancient Egypt. Running from 28 March to 29 June, it takes place at ExCel in Royal Victoria. So, if you’re looking to come face-to-face with mummies and more, here’s what you need to know.
Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition has been touring the world, and is now making its way to London. Almost two million people have already seen the exhibition, which offers a one-of-a-kind experience. If you can’t travel to Egypt, this is the next best thing.
Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition includes state-of-the-art technology with immersive projections, a 360-degree VR experience, and a free-roaming augmented reality metaverse room. The room will bring to life artefacts from Cairo, while a world-first hologram room shows the full mummification process of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Plus, there is an interactive walk-through experience of the Valley of the Kings.
The Treasure Room boasts original artefacts dating back to 4,000 BC. It includes items from Howard Carter’s private collection, including vases from Tutankhamun and Ramesses II and III. The experience also revisits the 1922 discovery of the tomb. Howard himself narrates parts of it, including the tomb’s unveiling.
Tickets for Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition go on sale from 31 January. A waitlist is now available. Visitors under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult, and children under three years old can go for free.
