Black Coffee has played across the world, from Dubai to Riyadh. Now, he will be making history as the first-ever DJ to headline the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Old Royal Naval College. Taking place on 1 August, this is a rare chance to see the South African performer in a one-of-a-kind setting.
Black Coffee is a DJ and producer who is celebrated for his unique fusion of house music with soulful elements, African rhythms, organic electronics, jazz influences, and evocative vocals. His signature style has seen him pioneer the Afropolitan House genre.
Black Coffee has collaborated with global superstars such as Alicia Keys, Drake, Pharrell Williams, and David Guetta. Over his career, he has won a Grammy Award and the Best International DJ award at the 2015 BET Awards and has consistently been a presence on the prestigious Top 100 DJs list.
Located on the River Thames, the Old Royal Naval College boasts an amazing history. Built between 1692 and 1712, it was designed by Christopher Wren. The site has been a palace and college and served the Royal Navy. The Painted Hall was painted between 1707 and 1726 by Sir James Thornhill.
Today, the Old Royal Naval College is a cultural destination. Throughout the year, it hosts family-friendly events and exhibitions. On the last Friday of each month, Feel Good Friday offers yoga sessions in the Painted Hall. Sustainable Fine Dining with Douglas McMaster takes place on 25 January. The Organ Restoration Celebration Concert takes place on 1 March.
