Gig goers, it’s that time of year. The summer marks the start of music festivals, and Glastonbury Festival 2025 has announced its line-up. The headliners include Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975. Acts also include Charli XCX, Biffy Clyro and Raye. Taking place from 25 to 29 June, the event brings together the biggest artists from around the world.
Glastonbury Festival 2025 has received praise, as women are leading the line-up. In previous editions, the headliners have been male and rock n roll heavy, whereas this year marks a shift in gender and genre. Plus, the legend slot will be filled by Rod Stewart.
Neil Young was born in Toronto, Canada. In the 1960s, he moved to Los Angeles, United States. He is nicknamed the Godfather of Grunge. His songs include For What It’s Worth, Harvest Moon, Heart of Gol and Teach Your Children.
Olivia Rodrigo hails from California, United States. She started taking acting and singing lessons in school. She made her acting debut when she was 12 years old, and shot to fame in Disney shows Bizaardvark and High School Musical: The Series. In 2021, she released her debut single, Driver’s License. Her hit singles include Bad Idea Right? and Vampire.
The 1975 were formed in Cheshire, England. The lead singer is Matty Healy, and the members met when they were in secondary school. In 2013, they released their debut self-titled album. Their hit singles include Chocolate, Give Yourself A Try and Robbers.
Glastonbury Festival 2025 also includes Alanis Morissette, Ezra Collective, Franz Ferdinand, Jorja Smith, Kate Tempest, The Libertines, The Maccabees and The Prodigy. Busta Rhymes will be making his debut at the festival.
In 2026, the festival will take a one-year break. Glastonbury Festival 2025 tickets have already sold out.
