London, you are being spoilt with big-name music acts, as the singing sensation John Legend has announced that he is coming to the capital. The show takes place at The O2 Arena on 1 June, and tickets go on sale this week.
The Get Lifted – 20th Anniversary Tour celebrates two decades of John Legend's debut album. He is expected to perform songs from his new and old records, which show off his soulful voice, keys and lyrics. All of Me, Used to Love U, and Ordinary People are just some of the hits we hope John Legend performs in London.
Born in Ohio, United States, he was a whizz at school and skipped two grades. He was even offered a place at Harvard University, which he turned down. The singer swapped books for beats. He received critical acclaim for his debut album, Get Lifted, and went on to carve out a successful career spanning two decades. The crowd pleaser is unique in being an EGOT winner, as he has won all the major entertainment awards – the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards.
The singing sensation has collaborated with a host of big names, including Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande, Common, Kanye West, Rick Ross and Sam Smith.
The stars keep on coming to the UK. Other concerts include Beyoncé at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 5, 7, 10 and 12 June, Drake headlining Wireless Festival from 11 to 13 July, Kendrick Lamar and SZA at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 22 and 23 July, and Will Smith at the O2 Academy Brixton on 28 August.
