Get jiggy with it at the O2 Academy Brixton.


This is the story all about how Will Smith turned entertainment upside down. The American superstar has announced his first headline tour, which celebrates his new album, Based on a True Story. The dates include Europe and the United Kingdom, and he will play at the O2 Academy Brixton in London on 28 August. 

Will is performing across the United Kingdom. The dates include Scarborough on 24 August, Cardiff on 25 August, Manchester on 27 August, and Wolverhampton on 30 August. He will also be playing across Europe, and the tour culminates in Paris, France on 2 September. 

On Instagram, Will stated: “I’m going on tour this summer! We’re hitting up UK and Europe to bring you all the hits, some new joints, and a few surprises. All these years, I’ve never done a headline tour and I can’t wait to see you guys!” 

Based on a True Story marks Will’s first album in 20 years, and it will be released on 28 March. Will started his music career as the MC of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. The duo’s hit singles include Boom! Shake the Room, Parents Just Don’t Understand and Summertime. He went on to have a succesful solo music career, and released the hit singles Gettin’ Jiggy With It, Miami and Men in Black. 

Will also rose to fame in the American TV series, Fresh Prince of Bel Air. The show was a fictionalised version of himself and follows a Philadelphia-born boy who moves to Los Angeles. He moved from the small screen to the silver screen. He starred in the Hollywood films Ali, Bad Boys, Hitch, Men in Black and Suicide Squad.
