The Levantine bakery offers coffee, seasonal baked goods and Lebanese favourites.
The High Llama Bakery was famous in Beirut, Lebanon. It opened in 2019 but closed four years later. However, the brand has found a new lease of life in London and will open at 38 Riding House Street in Fitzrovia very soon.
Although their Beirut location served more restaurant-style menu items, such as grilled sea bass, steaks and brisket buns, their London branch will provide more café-style items, focusing on bringing top-quality Lebanese baked goods to London. The High Llama Bakery in the capital will serve Lebanese-inspired artisanal home-baked goods, seasonal breakfast bowls, salads, coffee, fresh juices, and deli items.
Lama Ajjour, the founder of High Llama, cites several high-end London bakeries as inspiration for her own business, such as Cedric Grolet in Knightsbridge, Fortitude in Bloomsbury and Layla Bakery in Notting Hill.
Fitzrovia is already home to several superb bakeries, and The High Llama will be in great culinary company in such a sought-after location.
On Instagram, High Llama shared a video of the new location. It shows a woman walking around the fabulous streets of Fitzrovia in the sun, eventually leading to the location of new café.
The post is captioned: “We’re thrilled to have landed in this exquisite part of London. We can’t wait to open our doors for you soon.”
In a blog post on their website, High Llama said: “The good (and refreshingly uncontroversial) news is that all the Lebanese items we make and serve at The High Llama bakery in London’s Fitzrovia are lovingly created in contemporary homage to their traditional Lebanese culinary roots.”
