The original restaurant was located in Leytonstone.
It's time for Thai. London's top Thai restaurant, Singburi, is moving from Leytonstone to Shoreditch. The original restaurant built a loyal local as well as international following, and is now coming closer to central London. The exact opening date for Singburi Shoreditch has not yet been confirmed, but here's what we do know.
In 1999, Singburi opened to rave reviews and awards. The concept derives its name from the Sing Buri province in Thailand. The area is known as the lion city, and lies north of Bangkok. Reservations for the restaurant were hard to come by, and it gained a firm following. The original restaurant was located in Leytonstone, had a bring-your-own bottle option and was famous for its chalkboard of unmissable daily specials.

With the original restaurant shuttered, the new Singburi in Shoreditch will be located near Shoreditch Overground station. Following his parents' retirement, Chef Sirichai Kularbwong has teamed up with Chef Nick Molyviatis and restaurateur Alex Gkikas for Singburi 2.0. The team boasts brilliant culinary credentials. Nick worked on the launch of the restaurant Oma, and Alex worked on the café Catalyst and sauce brand Koffiracha.
The full menu for Singburi Shoreditch has not been revealed yet, but we do know that there will be a drinks list. The team has stated that they want to distil the essence of the restaurant and reimagine it for a new chapter. Singburi's original menu included Pad Talay Seafood Stir Fry with sweet basil and chilli and Yam Samun Phrai's herb salad with lime leaves, ginger, lemongrass, and sesame.
