Scheduled to open in 2028, the hotel will sit on the Southbank.
Mandarin has already made a name for itself in London. Now, the luxury brand has revealed that it is opening a new hotel in the capital, Mandarin Oriental Bankside, London. Scheduled to launch in 2028, this will be Mandarin’s third hotel in London.
Mandarin Oriental Bankside, London will be located on the South Bank. The location offers iconic views that encompass the London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral and River Thames. Located in Bankside Yard, it will be located in its own standalone building. Plus, it will be close to attractions including Borough Market, Shakespeare’s Globe and Tate Modern.
Mandarin Oriental Bankside, London will include 171 rooms and 70 residences. The facilities will cover four restaurants, a fitness centre, a wellness centre and a 25-metre lap pool. Plus, the venue will boast a sky lobby lounge and private roof garden, which we imagine will make the most of that view.
James Riley, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, explained: “We are excited to announce the development of Mandarin Oriental Bankside, London, which will be a significant addition to the Bankside Yards development and our third Mandarin Oriental property in London. We look forward to working with our partners to create a world-class hotel and branded residences that will undoubtedly become a landmark destination in London’s South Bank.”
Mandarin’s existing hotels in London include Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, which is located in Knightsbridge. Plus, it is launching its second hotel in London, Mandarin Oriental Mayfair. Located in Hanover Square, the hotel opens in the summer and includes 50 rooms and suites, and 78 residences.
