Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro are behind the expansion.
Nobu can be found around the world, from Dubai to Doha. Now, it will be opening a restaurant and hotel in Manchester, which will also be home to the first Nobu residences in the United Kingdom. Located in Viadux 2, the building is the tallest skyscraper in Manchester.
The Nobu brand was created by chef Nobu Matsuhisa and actor Robert De Niro. In 1994, the first restaurant opened in New York. The group expanded with Nobu Hospitality, which spans hotels and residences. In London, there are two Nobu hotels: Nobu Hotel London Portman Square and Nobu Hotel Shoreditch.

Nobu Hospitality has teamed up with Salboy on the £360 million development in Manchester. Upon completion, Nobu Hotel Manchester will be located in the tallest building outside London. Standing at 246 metres high, it will blend together luxury hospitality and world-class dining. The 76-storey tower will be home to 160 hotel rooms, and a Nobu restaurant and bar. The 452 Nobu residences include Nobu room service. Plus, the facilities include a swimming pool, spa, podium garden and gym.
Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality, explained: "Having grown up in the area, I am personally immensely proud of this project in a city that continues its evolution as a global destination for luxury hospitality. Manchester is home to world-class developments, a thriving culinary scene, and a growing demand for high-end lifestyle experiences. None of our locations are cookie-cutter; we wholeheartedly embrace the spirit of each destination."

Fred Done, Co-founder of Salboy & Betfred, added: "Nobu has consistently set the benchmark for fine dining, offering impeccable cuisine and unparalleled hospitality wherever I go, whether in New York, Singapore, or soon in Manchester. I'm truly excited to welcome the Nobu team to Manchester. As a businessman, I understand why Robert De Niro and his partners chose to invest in Nobu. It is about more than just money; it is about bringing this level of class to Manchester and celebrating what it means for the city."
