The family-friendly event takes place in April – and it’s free.
It’s soon time to celebrate Eid al-Fitr. To mark the end of Ramadan, London is filled with exciting events. London Eid Festival takes place from 4 to 6 April at Westfield London, and from 11 to 13 April at Westfield Stratford – and, it’s free to attend.
London Eid Festival is expected to be a big, blockbuster event. Now in its sixth year, the festival takes place at the two shopping centres: Westfield London and Westfield Stratford. The event is expected to attract more than 350,000 shoppers. Visitors can expect a bazaar, entertainment and street food stalls. Plus, there will be more than 100 international vendors.
London Eid Festival’s sponsors and traders include French Connection, John Lewis, Red Bull, Tilda, Western Union and more. The event gives you a chance to sample a range of stalls. Watch chefs making food on the spot, calligraphy artists in action, modest clothing shops and performers on stage. Plus, there are arts and crafts experiences available for families.
Last year, the London Eid Festival welcomed the performer Naughty Boy. He moved from entertainment to an eatery, and created Naughty Boy Kitchen. He explained: “Eid Mubarak everyone. I’m here to embrace everyone and all of the cultures. Also, I’m so proud to be Muslim. Everything feels so wholesome, and I’m honoured to be here. What a day, you need to be here to feel it. If you’re around, come here”.

Eid al-Fitr is expected to fall on the evening of Sunday, 30 March or Monda,y 31 March, depending on the sighting of the moon. Eid al-Fitr falls on the first day of Shawwal, which is the tenth month of the Islamic calendar. It marks the end of Ramadan, which is the ninth month of the calendar.
