It’s time to hop on board for some history. The first Muslim sightseeing bus tour has launched in London. Muslim History Tours has created an experience which celebrates the community. So, if you’d like to learn about the people and places that have made their mark in the capital, here’s what you need to know.
Muslim History Tours has been created by the award-winning guide, Abdul Maalik Tailor. Guests can hop on board a double-decker bus, which has seating upstairs and downstairs. On the top deck, you can enjoy panoramic, Insta-worthy views of the capital. And, if it rains, you can shelter in the lower deck.
During the Muslim sightseeing bus tour, guests will see significant sights that relate to the Islamic faith. Highlights include the English convert Abdullah Quilliam’s last house; he was behind the first mosque in the United Kingdom. The locations include a site dating back to 773 AD, the 1857 Indian Skull, and Pakistan’s first embassy.
Guests will learn about a country called Islamistan, Muslims praying in London in the 1600s, and the mosque in London in 1895. Throughout the experience, guests will be able to hop on and hop off at sights. The circular route covers the City of London and Central London. The tour goes through Tower Bridge, London Bridge, Tower of London, London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall and more. The experience lasts approximately four hours, and leaves East London Mosque or London Central Mosque.
